Little Miss Perfect"

We tv has a show called "Little Miss Perfect". The show is about two young girls. Always a different girl each show. But it is about the struggle and sometime heartbreak they go through in these pageants. Some do win the ca$h prize of $1,000 dollars but most are wondering why they didn't win. To have your child parade around in a Glam dress with hair big enough to reach god, a fake spray on tan, a swim wear outfit, and to do this all infront of three judges. One who is a washed up pageant queen, the second is a pervy man that has two Miss America winners under his belt, and the Third is a current Miss South America title holder. What do those people know about what young girls trying to be themselves when their mothers are dressing them up like whores and parading them around. Really... I mean really.....

I think any parent that does this to their child need to be shot! This is giving young girls horrible self-esteem when they don't win and having a mother drive you and make you work hard just to disappoint her in the long run. I was never entered into any pageants as a kid.(I thank my mother for that) But as a young female impersonator i did take the title as Junior Pride Rosebud and Miss Gay Portland. Pageants are hard work. You must know how to walk, talk, have a talent, look like a woman, answer questions, and socialize. But Mainly have fun. I could careless about my titles, i just wanted to have fun, in which i did and i won cause of that. It wasn't how pretty i looked, or my talent, or the fact i look great in evening wear. It was the fact that i look confident as i was and that i wanted to make a difference.

I will never let my child do a pageant like the little miss perfect. I would not like my child sur-come to something like that. I would tell my child they are find the way they are and that no pageant will help with that!

Hi Chi Chi!!! I was so excited to get your comment on my blog. I've been keeping up with your AMAZING adventures, I'm sure Australia will never be the same!
And for the record, I'm so glad you blogged about pageants, I think they should be illegal, they are abusive!
have fun in the big city!

ps: I just watched "Julie and Julia" last night and LOVED IT!! Cora suggested we try the recipes in "Mastering" --using fake meat! I doubt Julia would approve.
