Do Firemen and children mix?

Well boys and girls. It's that time of year. Where i take my class to the Fire station where we get to meet, talk, learn, and enjoy some of the great firemen of Portland. We were greeted by Fireman John,(pictured below in fire gear) He told us all bout what fire can do, and how not to play with fire. He walked us through the fire truck, put on and off his gear, gave the children fire hats, and took a class picture with us. Also the daddy of firemen was there to give me a spanking...(notice both firmen poses ... looks like someone was a calendar model..guess which one) Overall the fire station is my favorite fieldtrip of all! Feel free to oogoogle the firemen!

Valentine's day party

Normally i would hated this holiday due to i was alone and really hated that everyone else had someone else to share their love with. Well this year it's different! I have many people i can share my love with. Especially with my classroom. Yesterday (Thursday the 12) was our valentine's day party. Every child was filled with joy and excitement in the next hour, they would be having out the valentine of choice to friends and people they really likes. Part of the day before was spent making one card each child pulled out a name of one classmate and had to tell my something nice about that student as i wrote what they were telling me. Thus they than colored, draw, or cut things out to put on this special art work for the classmate. We decked out our bags that would be filled with all sorts of treats and valentine's their friends had got.
The most exciting part i liked is when the children got valentine's from classmate. Watching as the child passing out the valentines and see the children faces as each one received the cards. Faces filled up with joy and laughter. Songs about friendship were sung, hugs exchanged, and kisses. Many of my student's either gave me some power ranger or dora card. By my favorite ones were the home made cards. It really warms my heart to know that my students care for each other and love each other. What i won't give to keep it that way.
