Tonight i have the most pleasure of meeting one of the Famous Female impersonators. Darcelle and Roxy. Both a fantastic gentleman/host welcomed eight people into their Beautiful Victorian home. The evening started with everyone piling into the Parlor room for greetings and introductions. I brought my friend Tony along. We were greeted by Lindsay, Darcelle, Roxy, two other gay dads from the school and Katy. Wine was poured, the awe of the rooms filled my thoughts with questions about each piece of art work, why the choose that piece, where i can find it. Many stories of what the house was used for and built was a large part of mine. The house was built by a husband and wife, until the wife died and the husband sold it. Than the house became a brothel. It was one of the first places the sailors would come and get their fix on gambling, sex, and booze. After it was shut down by the mayor of Portland at that time. It was sold to some religious man. After that Darcelle and Roxy purchased it and have been calling it home. I love the taste these two have. They have put so much time and effort into their home. I felt like i died and went to heaven. It was my dream home! A home i begged them if they needed a house boy i would be more than happy to be one! The Walls all fabric's put up by hand. Same with some of the Ceiling. How many stories from that house came out of Roxy's mouth. (BTW that is his birth name) It was a great honor to spend the evening in their home. I have worked by the side of Darcelle many times and after all these years he remembers me. If you are ever in portland you really need to stop in and say Hello to Darcelle.
