Please join me

We are calling for a nationwide strike and economic boycott by all Gays and Lesbians AND OUR ALLIES, whether straight, bisexual or transgendered, on December 10th, 2008, International Human Rights Day.

WHY?

Because LGBT workers, business owners, consumers and taxpayers contribute over $700 billion to the U.S. economy each year and should not be treated as second class citizens.

Because general strikes and economic boycotts are a powerful weapon in the history of non-violent protests. See http://www.pbs.org/now/society/boycott.html.

Because marriage should be a Right for all Americans, including gay men and lesbians, regardless of gender, race OR religion.

Because until ALL are equal, NONE are equal.

HOW?

1. Strike: call in gay, shut down your business, take the day off. While this may be a burden, we must be willing to make sacrifices in our fight for equal rights, including the right to marry.

2. Boycott: don't buy or spend to show how much the LGBT dollar supports the American economy.

3. Volunteer: show the world that our message is about love, not discrimination. See www.daywithoutagay.net for a list of volunteer opportunities.

4. Communicate: spread the word. We need everyone's support.

Our co-sponsors include:
JOINTHEIMPACT.COM
DAYWITHOUTAGAY.COM
DAYWITHOUTAGAY.NET
GAYS ON STRIKE (on Facebook)

WHY THE NAME "A DAY WITHOUT GAYS"? We were inspired by the film A DAY WITHOUT A MEXICAN and the nationwide strike in 2006 called A DAY WITHOUT IMMIGRANTS, which were attempts by Latinos and other immigrants for equal rights and employment non-discrimination.

late love and weekend

ok ok ok so this weekend has gone by so fast. Yesterday i had a training class on what to do about child abuse. Nearly at the end of the class i was crying, from all the stories about the children that were saved and the ones that were killed either by the child care provider or something that happen there. We went over sexual abuse for a child, and mental abuse and neglect. In 2006 60,746 reports of child abuse/neglect was made to DHS in Oregon alone(department of Human services) But only 8,017 of these report were looked at. To tell you the true, that pretty fucked up. How can people be so blind and was to hurt a child. Children bring us life into our lives. They make us smile, and laugh. And think about them and what to be close to you and give you all the love they can.

Vegas.....

i recently just watched a movie called Vegas in Space. Its a movie about drag queens in space and they have to save the vegas planet from the evil evil Princess Angel doll drag queen. It was such a weird movie and i think i need some beer while i watched it.

Finally loving from my blog.

What does 1138 mean?

It’s not a secret code.
It’s not the address of the newest hotspot.
It’s one number, but it adds up.

At last count, the United States General Accounting Office reported 1,138 federal rights, protections
and benefits that come with marriage. Th at means heterosexual married couples automatically
receive these rights and protections, while same-sex couples — even those in civil unions,
domestic partnerships and marriages — do not.
This is unequal — and it’s unfair.
Many of these benefits, such as tax credits, are well known and may even factor into a heterosexual
couple’s decision to marry. Others can be taken for granted but carry great impact on the lives of
committed same-sex partners. Some of these are:
• Use of the Family and Medical Leave Act
Same-sex couples are denied this federal provision allowing up to 12 weeks unpaid leave to care for their sick partners.
• Fairness in taxation of health insurance for one’s family
Employer-sponsored health care for domestic partners is assessed federal taxes, while the same
coverage for heterosexual spouses and their dependents is not.

• Social Security benefits for surviving partners and their dependents
In cases of death or disability, Social Security benefits are not issued to same-sex partners or
their partner’s children.
• The right to petition for a partner’s immigration
• Family-sponsored visas are commonly distributed to those wishing to immigrate to the
United States, but under federal law, same-sex relationships do not constitute family.
These are just a few of the provisions and protections provided exclusively for heterosexual married
couples.
Let 1138 remind us what we have to work for in this fight.

ok i use to be a drag when i was 18 to 21 but i stopped that when i just could not keep my body on changing from man to female like. i mean i was a ok drag but and i did help raise money many of time. but i didnt want to be a 50yrs drag queen when i got up the that age. not i do give a lot of credit to the ones out there. but being one Rose bud of portland was just too much. Below is pictures from when i was Phoenix
